What Jeremy [has] learned in Iraq applies to those of us in [the US]. There is a More Beautiful World, and every one of us is invited.
Jeremy understands that hate breeds violence, and he acts on that truth in ceaselessly bold preemptive love for the enemy. I strongly endorse his actual life of peacemaking.
[There’s] a movement of people who will not accept that darkness is our future. Jeremy Courtney is on the front line of this movement…
After 9/11, we were recruited into a shadow network of faith-based operatives working under the banner of the War on Terror. Their mission: infiltrate foreign countries, convert Muslims, and reinforce American exceptionalism.
A few years in, we defected.
We moved into Iraq and made headlines helping children with war-related birth defects (while officials denied it ever happened).
Since then, we’ve built $50M organizations, worked across 20 countries, and helped more than 2 million people survive and rebuild.
But we’ve also watched movements burn out.
Tribes turn on each other.
Institutions lose their soul.
And self-help become selfish.
So we built what we always needed.
A way to train the whole person —
From inner clarity to systemic change.
And personal peace to collective action.
Now, as the U.S. descends into the same cycles we’ve spent 20 years surviving abroad, we’re passing on what we know works, warning against what doesn’t, and building the community we wish we had when we started.
Beyond theory.
This is transformation you can train for.
Our first awakening to “peacemaking” is shaped by shadowy religious work amid post-9/11 War on Terror.
Birth of Preemptive Love Coalition in Iraq. “Love first, ask questions later.”
ISIS takes over swaths of Iraq and Syria, displacing millions, redrawing our frontlines.
HUMANITE Peace Collective founded alongside refugees and war survivors.
Dept. of Peace (re)launches new community to help individuals and communities pursue what matters most.

~20 years pursuing peace in warzones. Guide. Cartographer.
Builder of Belonging. 20-year serial entrepreneur, investor, peacemaker.
Filmmaker and field documentarian. Finds the thread, tells the truth, and helps us remember our humanity.
We forged our training system over 20+ years of community building and coaching the world’s most impressive local changemakers.
Our members and clients benefit from tools that work in the private and public spaces of often polarized society as they answer and build on life's core questions:
So, who are we?
In short, we’re people who want more peace in ourselves and the world around us.
You’ve outgrown the old maps. The politics. The theology. You’re asking deeper questions now. You’re healing, unlearning, and searching for the right people to do it with.
You vote. Donate. Read. You’re not a cynic. But it’s getting harder. You want something real. A way to act that isn’t hollow. A community that still believes in building something better.
You’ve given to others your whole life and you're tired. You’ve got more to give. But you need someone to pour back into you without making you feel selfish for receiving.
We go beyond both. Over 20 years of giving and leadership, we got tired of both the myopic self-help industry and the activism that always seems to eat its own. We’ve already helped more than 10,000 members and clients bridge the gap between helping themselves and helping others. But we’ve newly repackaged and relaunched to give more friends like you an easier on-ramp.
If you’re happy with your group’s integration of the inner life and the outer life of all its individuals and communities, you probably don’t need us. But if you’re trying to build belonging beyond what your tribe can hold, this is for you.
What if you never find time? What we offer is community and tools to reclaim some of the time (and sanity) that we’ve all sacrificed to the screens and apps that keep you down and distracted. You can engage at your own pace and depth.
Ask the people who named their kids after us. Or the entrepreneurs who’ve doubled their wealth. Or those who bring calm resolve with them wherever they go because of our training. We’ve bet our lives on these ideas amid the world’s most difficult conflicts for 20 years. We’re not offering theory. We’re inviting you into the wisdom that’s changed us.
Not at all. Some members are building organizations and movements (they have a dedicated track). Others are rebuilding after loss, burnout, etc. If you're looking to level up your mindset and bring peace that lasts with you wherever you go, you’re in the right place. It doesn’t happen by accident. It’s transformation we train for.
Clarity comes by doing. We didn’t have the mentors we needed when we got started: not on our personal finances, entrepreneurship, community building, team leadership. That’s why we love coaching! Whether your next step is building yourself, your family’s future, or serving the world around you, we’re here to help you figure it out.
Yes. We offer scholarships and “pay-what-you-can” pathways for those navigating financial hardship, conflict, or recovery. We’ve built this platform to include people from warzones, underfunded organizers, students, and people rebuilding from trauma. Peace and belonging for ALL OF US. 👉 Apply here
